June Yee Felix is a former CEO of IG Group plc, a FTSE 100 company, global business leader, author and public company board director with more than three decades of experience leading businesses through growth, transformation and disruption across the United States, Europe and Asia.

 

Her perspective is grounded in one essential truth: the leaders who succeed now are not the ones who wait for certainty. They are the ones who know how to move when certainty is gone.

 

As CEO of IG Group, a global financial technology company, June doubled revenues to more than £1 billion, doubled profits, grew its Japanese business five-fold and, during the Covid pandemic, led the $1 billion acquisition of US trading firm tastytrade. Her career has also included senior leadership roles at IBM, Citi, Chase and Verifone Europe. Today, she serves on the Boards of Iron Mountain Inc., RELX Plc and Hiscox Plc.

 

June’s path to the C-suite was anything but conventional. The Chinese-American daughter of immigrants, she grew up between cultures and later forged a path through predominantly male industries. She studied Chemical Engineering and Pre-Med before choosing a career in business—experiences that taught her to read different environments, adapt without losing sight of who she was, and keep moving when the path forward wasn’t obvious.

 

Her influences were unconventional too. Long before reaching the C-suite, June found inspiration in Bruce Lee. His philosophy of adaptability, precision and flow resonated with her own experience and helped shape her approach to leadership.

 

Those experiences are at the heart of her book, WIN DIFFERENTLY: 8 Leadership Moves To Navigate Chaos, Lead With Flow, combining hard-won lessons from the C-suite with Bruce Lee’s philosophy to explore how leaders can move forward when fixed plans fail.

 

Candid and deeply human, June talks as openly about what didn’t work as she does about success. She believes a title may give you authority, but it doesn’t create the motivation for people to follow you.

 

June mentors senior leaders through Russell Reynolds Associates’ Executive Mentoring Network and serves as a CEO mentor in the RRA Artemis program, a CEO accelerator for high-potential women in global companies. She has been ranked Number 1 in the Top 25 Women Leaders in Financial Technology in Europe and recognised in the Innovate Finance Women in Fintech Powerlist.
